The primary responsibility of the Clerk of Courts is to act as the custodian of Criminal Court records. Our mission is to effectively and efficiently maintain accurate criminal records for the court and the citizens of Northampton County.

    General Payment Instructions:
    Please note that our office does not accept personal checks. Credit card information may not be taken over the telephone. Please do not send cash by mail. Payments may be made by any of the following methods:

    • Business check, certified check or money order by mail made payable to “Criminal Division”. Include defendant’s name, date of birth, and case number (if known).
    • Cash, credit card, money order or certified check if you come in person to pay. We accept Visa, MasterCard and Discover. Open Mon – Fri from 8:30am – 4:30pm.
    • Online at http://ujsportal.pacourts.us using a Visa, MasterCard, or Discover credit card. There is a $2.75 fee per transaction for all online payments.

    Posting Bail:
    Bail can be posted at Criminal Division between regular business hours from 8:30am – 4:30pm, excluding holidays. Please contact Pre-Trial Services before coming to Criminal Division to post. Bail can also be posted at Northampton County Prison outside of regular business hours. Only cash or certified check will accepted for posting bail.

    Other Payment Information:
    If you have questions regarding the payment of traffic tickets or citations, please contact the Magisterial District Court or police agency which issued the ticket/citation. View a list of Northampton County Magisterial District Courts here.

     Criminal Record Searches


    Northampton County Criminal Record Searches:
    Obtain a criminal record search from Northampton County Court of Common Pleas for a $10.00 fee. Requests for criminal records can be made in person or by mail.

    If sending a request by mail, please include a business check, certified check or money order made payable to “Criminal Division” in the amount of $10.00 plus any additional fees for copies or certifications. View a full schedule of fees here.

    Our office is not permitted to provide disposition/sentencing information over the phone.

    Pro Se parties must accurately complete any necessary paperwork, affix signatures as required, and place documentation in appropriate order before presenting them in Court or filing. Employees are not permitted to give legal advice.

    Summary Appeals:
    Summary Appeals must be filed within 30 business days of the disposition or conviction date. There is a non-refundable $45.00 filing fee that must be paid at the time of filing in the offices of Criminal Division.
